AMORE & PSICHE, 2023
“Amore & Psiche” is a work inspired by the famous tale narrated by Apuleius in the “Metamorphoses,” one of the most iconic love stories in classical mythology. At the heart of the narrative is the union between Cupid, the god of desire and attraction, and Psyche, the personification of the human soul. This tale represents the eternal quest for balance between the divine and the earthly realms, between the trials that love must endure and the ultimate destiny of the soul.
The artwork depicts this intrinsic connection between love and the soul, emphasizing how love, despite its difficulties and misunderstandings, remains the most fundamental of emotions. Through the story of Love and Psyche, the work reminds us that love is capable of overcoming obstacles, trials, and suffering, leading to redemption and eternal union. Psyche, after enduring numerous challenges imposed by the gods, is ultimately rewarded with immortality, symbolizing the victory of love and the beauty of the soul.
“Amore & Psiche” thus remains a reflection on love as a transcendent force that dominates both human and divine emotions. This representation invites the viewer to rediscover the essence of a feeling that, in its many forms, continues to be central to our lives and our understanding of the world.
The digital work was exhibited at the prestigious CAFA Art Museum in Beijing, China, confirming its artistic value and its ability to communicate universal themes such as love and the soul, which transcend cultures and eras.
