EX HUMAN, 2023

EX HUMAN is an immersive digital installation featuring a series of large-scale portraits of androids and human-like robots, each inspired by neoclassical sculptures of the past. The portraits are rendered using the latest advances in computer-generated imagery, creating hyper-realistic representations of the robotic subjects. As viewers enter the space, they are immediately enveloped by the sounds and lights of the installation, immersing them in a futuristic world populated by robotic beings. The installation was first presented in 2023 at Art in Space in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The portraits stand out as a striking representation of the fusion between classical and modern aesthetics. Despite their mechanical nature, the androids and robots depicted in the portraits possess a sense of emotional depth and humanity. Their features, though robotic, have a lifelike quality that makes them appear almost human, creating a sense of empathy and connection between the viewer and the artwork.

Even the sounds that shape the atmosphere of the installation were generated through the use of artificial intelligence, experimenting with the latest applications in this field. The use of artificial intelligence in the creation of these androids and robots adds an extra layer of intrigue, fostering a sense of dialogue between the viewer and the artwork. In this way, the immersive digital artwork offers a thought-provoking commentary on the relationship between humanity and technology and how these two worlds are becoming increasingly intertwined in the modern era.
