PROPAGANDA, 2022
“Every child is an artist. The challenge is to remain an artist once we grow up.” This quote by Pablo Picasso has always made me think.
Children express themselves with simplicity and honesty. In my artistic research, simplicity and immediacy characterize many of my works because I want my messages to be accessible and understood by everyone, without exclusion. Simplifying is much harder than complicating.
Among the many problems we face, I reflected on the issue of war, which has always been a part of our civilization’s history. In the United States, one of the most common words is “WAR.” The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine is just one of the many wars plaguing our world, bringing death, suffering, and hatred among people.
The message I want to send is as simple as it is true. If I asked a child what they think of war, they would most likely say that war is for the stupid.
